Rep. Trey Gowdy just scored the gig of a lifetime, after he was elected to lead and manage the Oversight Committee.
Although this was never his first ambition, Trey Gowdy earned the trust of the American people, and will now be in charge of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
Next week, a suitable replacement for Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, is set to be found. As you know, Chaffetz announced he was retiring before his term ends.
Now, with Gowdy taking on this huge responsibility, things are looking up for America and its politics.
The GOP showed massive respect for Gowdy and believe he will be able to fit in accordingly and bring progress to the country.
Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar, a member of the Freedom Caucus, stated Gowdy “is tried, tested and exactly what the committee needs at this time.”
Gowdy never asked for such duty, but this is not the first time he faced such turn of events. This also happened when he was put in charge of inspecting the 2012 Benghazi attack, which he delivered magnificently.
Aside from this, Gowdy also handles the Judiciary Committee.
He was shortly considered a replacement for James Comey at the FBI, but he pulled away from the task.
Although Gowdy was not free to comment, but his spokeswoman, Amanda Gonzalez, noted:
“Congressman Gowdy, who has served on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee since 2011, has enjoyed working with colleagues on both sides of the aisle conducting oversight consistent with branch integrity and looking for ways to reform the institutions of government. He will continue to work with his colleagues regardless of what position he holds.”
If you trust Gowdy to do an amazing job in his new assignment, share this story and let America celebrate this great man!
