On Thursday, unsettling news came to President Trump, after a federal appeal court from Richmond once again blocked his travel ban referring to six Muslim countries which pose a threat to America.
The ruling resulted in a 10-3 vote, explaining the executive order “speaks with vague words of national security, but in context drips with religious intolerance, animus, and discrimination.”
Judge Roger Gregory explained that Trump is not almighty when it comes to conducting such an order and passed his opinion on Congress as well.
“It cannot go unchecked when, as here, the President wields it through an executive edict that stands to cause irreparable harm to individuals across this nation,” he wrote.
The order was problematic to the liberals since it also obstructs going visa applications as well.
Judge Stephanie Thacker had this to say on the matter:
“While on the campaign trail, a non-incumbent presidential candidate has not yet taken the oath to ‘preserve, protect and defend the Constitution’ and may speak to a host of promises merely to curry favor with the electorate,” she said.
“Once a candidate becomes President, however, the Constitution vests that individual with the awesome power of the executive office while simultaneously imposing constraints on that power.”
Judge Shedd noted Trump is totally entitled to making decisions like this one.
“The President is not obligated to disclose his reasons ‘for deeming nationals of a particular country a special threat … and even if he did disclose them, a court would be ill equipped to determine their authenticity and utterly unable to assess their adequacy.’ ”
“Regrettably, at the end of the day, the real losers, in this case, are the millions of individual Americans whose security is threatened on a daily basis by those who seek to do us harm,” he continued.
“Even if the district court’s instinct is correct and no tangible harm directly results from its order enjoining the President from attempting to protect American citizens, the injunction prohibits the government from addressing a serious risk identified by the Attorney General and Homeland Security Secretary; therefore, the security of our nation is indisputably lessened as a result of the injunction.”
Now, the Supreme Court is facing a possible shut down, as their efforts to improve America’s safety are getting crushed on daily basis.
Jeff Sessions made it clear that the administration “strongly disagrees” with this blocking, and pointed out the travel ban is “a constitutional exercise of the President’s duty to protect our communities from terrorism.”
As of now, the White House “will seek review of this case in the United States Supreme Court.
The travel ban has been blocked on two occasions previously with a Hawaiian judge, and close friends of Obama’s being the first to initiate this blocking, while the second block came from a Washington District Court judge.
Donald Trump needs to get all of our support, and the travel ban is now more necessary than ever.
